Your LinkStowmarket Volleyball Club was founded in 1976 and has been one of the top clubs in Suffolk ever since. The club competes in the National Cup and Plate, Eastern Region tournaments and Suffolk League and Cup during the indoor season, as well as various beach and grass tournaments in the summer.
When the evenings are light, and the weather is better, from mid-May until the end of August, both clubs join together and play on The Rec in Stowmarket on Tuesdays. These sessions are free to alll! We also play at various tournaments around the country.
Both clubs are always on the look-out for new players, so if you're interested in joining either, please contact Stow VC or contact Stingers.
When coming from the A14, or Stowmarket, come through Stowupland, passing the garage on your right. Immediately after The Crown pub on your left, turn in to the school and follow the road all the way round to the Sports Centre.

Occasionally, sessions for youngsters and beginners will be held in the gym at Stowmarket Middle School. Enter via the gate at the top of The Rec, follow the road along the north and east sides of the school grounds and onto the upper playground. The orange-roofed building next to the playground is the dinner hall, the gym is behind that. The entrance to both is to the left of the dinner hall.

Volleyball is loads of fun and a very friendly game. It's the only high-energy, no contact, mixed team sport you can play indoors and outdoors - whatever your ability. Now is a great time to give volleyball a go and find out why it is one of the top three most-played sports in the world!

Whether you're a complete beginner and want to try the game for the first time, or you haven't played for a while and want to start playing again, these are the sessions for you!

We host outdoor sessions during the summer on Sundays from 6-8pm.

In 2025, provided weather is OK and sufficient leaders are avaiable, these will be from 15th June to 7th September except carnival weekend (20th July).

Sessions are suitable for everyone from beginners to the top players in Suffolk and are free to all! Adult and youth beginners are always welcome (ages 12+).

Please note sessions only go ahead when we're expecting dry weather, have sufficient adults available to lead and know we will have enough players available to have a game so if you're interested in joining us, please contact us.

For the location of The Rec, please see our Venues page.

Regular members should be aware of our risk assessment and help to ensure the area is setup and maintained in a safe way.
